Home  /  Our Products  /  Furnaces  /  Bell Furnace
A Bell Furnace is a type of batch heat treatment furnace with a removable, dome-shaped heating chamber ("bell") that is lowered over the workload placed on a stationary or movable base. These furnaces are ideal for annealing, normalizing, tempering, and bright annealing of metals, ensuring uniform heat distribution with controlled atmospheres.
Types of Bell Furnaces
  1. Gas-Fired Bell Furnace
    • Uses natural gas, LPG, or diesel for high-efficiency heating.
    • Ideal for large-scale heat treatment applications.
  2. Electric Bell Furnace
    • Uses resistance heating for precise temperature control.
    • Suitable for bright annealing and oxidation-sensitive processes.
  3. Controlled Atmosphere Bell Furnace
    • Uses inert gases (nitrogen, hydrogen, argon, etc.) to prevent oxidation.
    • Common in stainless steel, aluminum, and special alloy processing.
  4. High-Temperature Bell Furnace
    • Designed for extreme temperatures (up to 1200oC or more).
    • Used in tool steel, aerospace, and advanced metallurgy applications.
Key Features of Roller Hearth Furnaces
  • Flexible Batch Processing - Suitable for small and large batch production.
  • Uniform Heat Distribution - Ensures consistent heating and temperature control.
  • Controlled Atmosphere Capability - Allows oxidation-free processing.
  • Movable Heating Chamber - Easy loading/unloading of workpieces.
  • Energy Efficient - Insulated design reduces heat loss.
  • Automated Temperature Control - PLC/SCADA integration for precise process monitoring.
Applications of Bell Furnaces
  • Metal Heat Treatment - Annealing, tempering, and stress relieving of steel, aluminum, and alloys.
